Vocational Nursing Program
Blinn College’s Vocational Nursing Program is a 10- to 11-month, face-to-face program held Monday through Friday on the Brenham Campus. The program includes classroom instruction, laboratory learning, and clinical experiences, all conducted in person either on campus or at assigned clinical sites.
Two program start dates are offered each year:

Fall cohort: August through June

Spring cohort: January through December
Because the program combines coursework with hands-on clinical training, class and clinical hours vary by semester and by day.
First Semester
Students attend four classroom days and one clinical day each week.

Classroom sessions begin at 8 a.m. and typically conclude between 4–5 p.m.

Clinical days begin at 6:30 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
Second Semester
Students attend three classroom days and two clinical days each week.

Two classroom days are dedicated to theory courses, and one day focuses on on-campus clinical activities.

Summer Semester
Students attend two classroom days and two clinical days each week.

Students spend approximately 40 hours per week in class and clinical experiences, in addition to required study and preparation time outside of scheduled program hours. Because of the program’s rigorous schedule and workload, students are advised not to seek employment while enrolled in the program.
