Texas Commission on Fire Protection Exams

The mission of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) is to aid in the protection of lives and property of Texas citizens through the development and enforcement of recognized professional standards for individuals and the fire service.

Register for the TCFP online exam through your  FIDO account and receive your Exam Eligibility Form.

Saturday Testing

No walk-in testing is allowed on Saturdays. Seating is limited. To register, click on the date you wish to take your test or register and pay in person at the Central Administrative Services Building, located at 3125 S. Texas Avenue in Bryan. No forms of payment will be accepted on Saturday test dates. Report time is 8 a.m.

Monday-Friday Testing

Monday-Friday testing is held in the  Central Administrative Services Building , located at 3125 S. Texas Avenue in Bryan, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The schedule is subject to change so make sure to verify the date you want is still available before registering for an exam. The time of a specific exam is selected at registration.

Pay Online

For Monday through Friday testing dates, students may pay online and bring the printed payment receipt with them on test day.

Pay in Person

You may pay in person at Enrollment Services from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enrollment Services is closed on Saturdays. Payment may be made with a major credit card, money order, debit card, or cash. No personal checks will be accepted. The t esting fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and will expire after 30 days from date of purchase.

Arrive on test day with the TCFP Exam Eligibility Form, proof of payment, and a state-issued photo ID.*

*Valid ID requirements include: state-issued driver's license or identification card, military identification card, foreign- or U.S.-issued passport, or Matrícula Consular identification card.
