Veteran Services

Thank you for visiting the Blinn College District Veteran Services Office. Our office’s mission is to provide service to our active duty service members, veterans, and their families as they work to achieve their academic goals. Our staff and veteran advisors are here to provide assistance to you for application to available military educational benefits and help maximize your college funding at Blinn.

Blinn now offers a convenient financial aid queue! Visit the Buccaneer Financial Aid Queue. If lines are short, you can speak to a member of our staff in just a few minutes. Otherwise, we’ll keep you updated regarding the wait times and then call you when you’re at the front of the line!

Hazlewood and VA Benefits Submission Deadlines

If you qualify for state or federal education benefits earned through military service and payment to the school is delayed, you may be eligible for a 60-day deferment of tuition and fees to avoid late fees and/or being dropped from classes. Please submit a request for more information by completing the

Tuition Deferment Information Form, and a staff member will contact you.

The deadlines above for Hazlewood and Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits have been established to allow processing time for student benefits to be applied, or certified, by the payment deadlines at Blinn. By submitting all required documentation and being registered by these dates, we can ensure that your internal credits for tuition and fees (Hazlewood, Chapter 33, and Chapter 31) are applied and classes held by the Pay-As-You-Go deadline date. Otherwise, you may be required to initiate a payment plan, or pay up front while your benefit request is processed.

'There is a new challenge every day,' says William Fontana

After four years in the Marine Corps, Delaware native William Fontana was ready for the next step in his career.

“I started to gain a passion for the medical field,” said Fontana, who credits his time in the service with inspiring his next move. “It is a big deal to be able to save the person to the left and right of you. Above all else, I enjoy helping people.”
