Asylum Student Admissions Checklist
(A student who has an Approved I-589 Application for Asylum with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.)
If you have only submitted the I-589 Application for Asylum and it is currently pending, please review the pending-asylum-checklist.pdf and upload all relevant documentation related to your pending asylum case for processing.
Admissions Deadline
Asylum students do not have a specific admissions deadline but must submit admissions requirements for processing prior to the start of a term to ensure ability to enroll in classes during the Add/Drop period for the term.

Initial admission items should be submitted through the student’s myBLINN portal. Click the items below to be directed to the submission portal (you must have your myBlinn log-in).

Residency Status for In-State Tuition Rate
All asylum-approved students are initially designated as a foreign tuition rate. You may be eligible for a change in your tuition rate under different categories that are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. You can request to have your case reviewed by submitting the Residency Reclassification Form with the proper documents.
