Performance Guidelines
-
Bring three copies of your scores with measures numbered and your school name written on each.
-
Each group may perform two or three selections within a 30-minute time limit, which includes warm-up, entry, and exit.
-
Music selection is at the director’s discretion. Judges will provide comments on the appropriateness of the repertoire based on class and age level.
-
A performance recording will be provided on a flash drive and is included in the entry fee. Please note this will not be a professional-quality recording, but we will do our best to capture the performance.
-
A faculty or student monitor will greet you and guide your group to the performance area.
-
After your performance, you will be directed to the contest office to pick up comment sheets, awards, and your flash drive.
-
If you are bringing multiple choirs, please seat both groups in the room as space allows to help ensure a smooth transition between performances.
-
If using pre-recorded accompaniment, you must bring your own playback equipment and ensure that your performance (including setup) fits within the 30-minute window.
Parking and Drop-Off
-
Parking can be limited during the day on the Brenham Campus.
-
You may unload students and equipment near the Schmidt Building.
-
After unloading, please have your bus driver move the bus to nearby street parking or a space near the Student Center.
-
Make sure you have the bus driver’s cell phone number so you can call for pickup once your group’s performance is complete.
