Surgical technologists are in high demand in the Brazos Valley, across the State of Texas, and nationally.

Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley lists surgical technologists on its 2019 high-skill, high-growth targeted occupations list, anticipating a 30% employment growth between 2014 and 2024. According to Workforce Solutions, surgical technologists in the region can earn between $19.53 and $25.87 per hour.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, surgical technology employment will grow 12% (faster than average) nationally between 2016 and 2026, creating an additional 12,600 jobs. Nation-wide, surgical technologists earn a median pay of $22.74 per hour or $47,300 per year.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the highest employment demand for surgical technologists is in Texas, with approximately 10,340 employed across the state. State-wide, surgical technologists earn a mean wage of $23.76 per hour or $49,410 annually.
