Build a Career in HVAC With Hands-On Training and Industry Certification

Get the skills that employers are looking for in one of the most dependable and in-demand trades.
Blinn College’s non-credit HVAC training program prepares you for success in residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning careers—fields known for their strong job stability and excellent earning potential.

Through three hands-on courses totaling 224 contact hours, you’ll gain the knowledge and practical experience needed to earn two key industry certifications:

  • NCCER HVAC Level 1 Certification
  • EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification

What You’ll Learn

To prepare for these certification exams, you should take the following non-credit courses:

CNBT 1010 – Introduction to the Construction Industry
64 contact hours
Start with the basics. This course introduces you to essential concepts in construction safety, tools, materials, and site procedures—all foundational knowledge for HVAC work.

HART 1041 – Residential Air Conditioning
128 contact hours
This core course provides in-depth training in residential HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. You’ll work with real equipment to gain hands-on experience.

HART 1056 – EPA Recovery Certification Preparation
32 contact hours
Focused preparation for the EPA Section 608 certification exam, this course ensures you understand refrigerant handling, safety procedures, and environmental regulations required to legally work with refrigerants.
