Transfer Opportunities

The Blinn College District offers a variety of transfer opportunities for registered nurses (RNs) who earn their associate degree through Blinn to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and beyond.

Aggie Student-Centered Express Nursing Degree (ASCEND) Program

Through the ASCEND Program, students complete an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree from Blinn and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Texas A&M School of Nursing while co-enrolled in both institutions. Associate degree nursing courses are completed in person at Blinn, while BSN courses are finished completely online through Texas A&M.

Sam Houston State University RN-to-BSN Program

The Blinn College District Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) School of Nursing have partnered to offer an accelerated RN-to-BSN pathway for eligible Blinn ADN students. Nursing students who have completed at least one semester of Blinn’s ADN Program can begin taking courses at SHSU in the summer to earn credit toward their BSN degree. Upon completion of Blinn’s ADN Program, qualifying students transition into SHSU’s School of Nursing and complete the BSN Program coursework. The program offers flexible scheduling through SHSU’s fully online classes and helps students reduce tuition and fees by completing three years of their educational requirements at Blinn.

University of Houston-Victoria CAPS Partnership

Through the CAPS (Clear Affordable Pathways to Success) Partnership between the Blinn College District and the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV), Blinn Associate Degree Nursing students can pursue their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The RN to BSN program at UHV is only offered fully online as eight-week FastTrak courses. Prerequisite, lower-division coursework may be completed as FastTrak courses or completed at Blinn as part of co-enrollment between Blinn College and the University of Houston-Victoria.

Articulation Agreements

In addition to its partnership with SHSU, Blinn’s ADN Program has transfer articulation agreements in place with Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas at Tyler, and the University of Texas Medical Branch.
