Theatre Arts
The Blinn College Theatre Arts Program cultivates a quality educational foundation of study, application, and experience through a wide range of performance, technical, and production studies. The Associate of Arts degree plan integrates the artistic, technical, and academic disciplines of theatre from the classroom to the stage. Moreover, students have the opportunity to audition for a variety of performances related to drama and theatre, and are prepared to transfer to major four-year colleges and universities.
Blinn's Theatre Arts Program blends classroom instruction with practical experience. The Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center hosts at least four Brenham Campus student performances each year, and serves as home to the Performing Arts Series, which hosts four nationally touring shows each academic year. Through these activities, students gain on-stage and behind-the-scenes experience.
Why Choose Blinn?
On the Brenham Campus, students work in a premier theatre arts facility and develop their on-stage and technical theatre arts skills. On the Bryan Campus, students can participate in the Blinn-Bryan Theatre Troupe, showcasing their skills in high-energy community performances.
Blinn students save thousands in tuition and fees and can apply for 300+ scholarships with a single application. See our affordability page for more info.
Blinn has the state’s No. 1-ranked academic transfer rate, allowing students to affordably transfer credits toward a bachelor's degree.
According to the Texas Workforce Commission, a degree in theatre arts can prepare students for a variety of careers, such as actor, producer, director, and high school drama teacher.
