Blinn board authorizes next step in development of Waller Campus
College to seek proposals for furniture, technology, security equipment, and other amenities for first academic building

The Blinn College District Board of Trustees authorized the College Tuesday to seek proposals for the furniture, fixtures, and equipment that will outfit the first academic building on the new Blinn College-Waller Campus.
With the Board’s approval, Blinn will solicit proposals for furniture, audio/visual technology, information technology equipment, security equipment, and other building amenities.
Located at 29638 FM 2920 in the City of Waller, the 82,000-square-foot academic building will feature modern classrooms, teaching laboratories, student support spaces, administrative offices, meeting areas, food service, and other amenities designed to support students throughout their college experience.
The $68 million facility will serve as the foundation for Blinn’s 100-acre Waller Campus and is designed to accommodate approximately 2,500 students. Blinn broke ground on the campus in March.
The new campus represents a significant investment in one of the state’s fastest-growing regions. Within a 20-mile radius of the campus site, the population is projected to grow from more than 850,000 residents to more than 1 million by 2034.
The Waller Campus will expand local access to affordable, high-quality higher education and provide students with opportunities to complete foundational coursework before transferring to universities to pursue bachelor’s degrees and beyond.
The academic campus is part of Blinn’s broader expansion in Waller and northwest Harris County. In June, the College celebrated the grand opening of the nearby Blinn College-Waller Workforce and Technical Education Complex, a 17,000-square-foot facility offering workforce training and student services approximately one block from the future academic campus.
That facility is currently offering both academic transfer and career and technical courses, and registration is currently open for the fall semester. For more information about Blinn’s programs in Waller, visit www.blinn.edu/waller.
