Enrollment Update

Presented by Dr. Becky McBride, Vice Chancellor for Student Services

Dr. McBride provided an update on Bryan Campus student enrollment, noting that overall enrollment has decreased by 5% compared to Spring 2025. However, dual credit enrollment has increased by 21.7% with Blinn now serving students from more than twenty area schools. Of those, 264 students are from the Bryan area alone. There has also been an increase in online course enrollment among students residing in the local area. Year-to-date dual credit enrollment exceeded expectations by 188 students. Additionally, Blinn TEAM program will bring approximately 1,600 students back to the Bryan Campus from the RELLIS campus in Fall 2026, excluding the engineering program, which will remain at RELLIS.

Preview Days at Blinn will be held on Fridays and will coincide with other scheduled campus events to maximize participation and engagement. Prospective students continue to attend daily campus tours, demonstrating steady interest in enrollment. New Student Registration (NSR) has proven to be a remarkable success, with multiple dates offered throughout the summer months leading up to the start of fall courses. On average, approximately 1,000 students and their families attend Preview Day events, reflecting strong community interest and involvement.

Workforce and Economic Development Update

Presented by Mr. Marshall Rich, Dean of Applied Technology, Workforce & Economic Development

Marshall Rich provided an update on House Bill 8 and its new funding model, as discussed in previous meetings. State funding is now based on performance outcomes including credentials of value. Currently, there are sixty-four awards on the Bryan Campus. As a result of House Bill 8, a new certification has been created, The Institutional Credential Leading to Licensure (ICLC), with three short-term programs now in place. The College has seen an increase from 13% to 17% in key performance areas, from 2021 to 2025, along with a 12% increase on the Bryan Campus, averaging 224 students. Perkins grants continue to provide valuable support by assisting students with books and necessary supplies that might otherwise require out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, dual credit partnerships are growing rapidly.
