How to Take the TSI

  • Brenham Campus: In-person testing by appointment Monday – Thursday. Walk-ins welcome but appointments are highly encouraged.
  • Bryan Campus: In-person testing by appointment Monday - Thursday. Walk-ins welcome but appointments are highly encouraged.
  • RELLIS Campus: In-person testing by appointment only on Tuesday and Wednesday. Visitors to the RELLIS Campus will be required to pay for parking.

Step 3: Pay Test Fees

  • Once you have scheduled a TSIA test appointment, we will email you instructions on how to pay the test fee.
  • Fees are as follows:
    • ALL Parts (English Language Arts & Reading and Math) - $30
    • One Part - $10
    • Essay Retake Only - $10 (available only if you have taken the essay portion before)
  • All testing fees are nonrefundable/nontransferable.

Step 4: On the Date of your Appointment

  • Please arrive on time to your appointment.
  • You MUST have a valid photo ID to test (Blinn ID card, driver’s license, state issued ID card, passport). Digital photos of your ID are unacceptable.

Step 5: After You Test

  • Once you have completed TSIA testing you may visit with advising, for more information on hours and availability please visit our Meet with an Academic Advisor page.

Examity is an online service provided by an outside source contracted with College Board's TSI testing program. They offer their services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by appointment. The fee to utilize Examity is $25 and is in addition to Blinn College TSIA fees.

If you would like to pursue the Examity option, use the following steps as your guide:

Step 2: Will Examity Work for You?

  • Confirm that you meet their technical requirements.
    • Examity system requirements are:
      • Desktop computer or laptop (tablets, Chromebooks and mobile devices do not meet requirements).
      • A working built-in or external webcam, microphone and speakers.
      • Internet speed must be at least 2Mbps download and 2Mbps upload. Hot spots are not recommended.
      • Google Chrome browser with pop-up blocker disabled.
    • You can complete a computer readiness check here.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to verify that they meet all technical requirements. Once this has been verified you may create an Examity Account.
  • Before scheduling your appointment with Examity, you will need a voucher number. Your voucher will be issued once you have paid the TSI Assessment fee ($30 for all parts, $10 for one part, paid directly to Blinn College). Move on to step 3 to request your voucher.

Step 3: Request to take the TSIA from Home

Before moving forward with Examity, you MUST complete a Voucher Request with Blinn College. Please do not schedule an appointment with Examity until you have received your voucher number.

  1. Complete this form to notify us of your choice to utilize Examity.
  2. Once your request has been received, the Testing Center will send you an email with instructions for payment of the TSI Assessment fee ($30 for all parts, $10 for one part, paid directly to the college).
  3. Schedule your appointment with Examity.
  4. Your voucher will be sent to you via an email directly from Accuplacer, please be sure to check your spam folder, once a voucher has been requested it will be processed with three days of payment being received.

Step 4: On the Date of your Appointment

You will need to have the following items with you:

  • Valid picture ID
  • Testing voucher number

Note: Examity may have additional requirements, be sure to communicate with them to determine what those requirements may be.

Remote testing is available for all students who are located outside Blinn College District area and cannot take the TSI Assessment on one of the five Blinn campuses.

Step 2: Locate a Test Center

  • Find a testing center near you using the Accuplacer Testing Center Lookup.
  • Please note that most test centers have a proctoring fee paid directly to them that is in addition to the TSI test fee you pay Blinn College.

  • Once you have scheduled submitted a Blinn College Remote Site Voucher Request, we will email you instructions on how to pay the test fee.

Step 5: Schedule Your Appointment

  • You will contact your designated testing center directly to schedule an appointment.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they have received their voucher information PRIOR to their testing appointment.
  • Please arrive on time to your appointment.
  • You MUST have a valid photo ID to test (Blinn ID card, driver’s license, state issued ID card, passport). Digital photos of your ID are unacceptable.

If you have taken the TSIA within the last five years, you may submit those test scores to be used at Blinn.

  1. Log into myBLINN.
  2. Select Admissions Forms
    Admissions Form
  3. Complete and submit the Test Score Submission Form

You may also submit the Score Request Form to have Blinn pull your previous score reports. Please allow up to five business days for processing.
