Course Navigation
This quick guide provides information about how to navigate eCampus and the essential functions you will use.
eCampus Minibar
The eCampus minibar provides shortcuts and alerts:

My Home – Takes you to the eCampus home page

Course Selector – Allows you to access all of your courses and pin them to My Courses
-
Message Alerts – Gives direct access to new emails and to your mailbox

Subscription Alerts – Indicates new posts to discussion forums you have subscribed to
-
Update Alerts – Indicates new News items, grades posted, and upcoming due dates
-
Personal Menu – Allows you to edit your profile, set up notifications, change account settings, view your class progress, and log out
My Courses
The My Courses widget on the home page displays the courses that you pinned. Click a link to enter that course.
(To pin courses to My Courses, go to the Course Selector on the minibar.)
eCampus NavBar
Once you select a course, the Navigation bar (NavBar) will appear. The NavBar consists of links to course-specific tools and resources. Note: The style, layout, and available links in the NavBar may not be the same for each of your courses.
Content
Course materials, such as lecture notes and assignments, are located in Content.

Bookmarks – Access topics that you have bookmarked

Course Schedule – View upcoming due dates, a schedule of events, and overdue items
-
Modules – View the modules and topics associated with the course
-
Number of Incomplete Items – Indicates incomplete items within a module
-
Course Topics – Click the course topic to view its contents
-
Content – Click individual links to complete tasks
-
Completion Tracking – Shows an overview of your progress
-
Completion Indicator – Dot = not completed; checkmark = completed
Discussions
Discussions are organized into forums and topics. You access Discussions through links under Content.
Creating New Threads

Click Start New Thread
-
Enter subject and message (attachments and audio optional)
-
Click Post
-
Your post appears in the topic
Replying to Threads
-
Click the message subject
-
Click Reply to Thread
-
Enter your message
-
Click Post
-
Select Subscribe to this thread if desired
Adding Attachments
-
Click Add attachments
-
Click Upload for files
-
Click Record Audio for audio
After posting, click the upside-down triangle for editing options.
Dropbox (Assignment Submission)
Dropbox is where assignments are submitted.
Submitting an Assignment

Click the dropbox assignment
-
Click Add a File
(Unsupported file types: .gdoc, .zip, .wpx, .wps, OneDrive links, Apple iWork files) -
Select file location
-
Upload or drag files
-
Click Add
-
Enter comments if needed
-
Click Submit
-
Confirmation screen appears
Access email via Message Alerts → Email.
From inbox you can:

Compose new messages

Filter by course
-
Click subject to read
Sending Email
Option 1 – From Classlist
-
Progress → Classlist
-
Email Classlist (entire class)
-
Use dropdown by name
-
Select users and click Email
Option 2 – Address Book

Click Compose
-
Enter email or open Address Book
-
Select recipient
-
Click To / Cc / Bcc
-
Click Add Recipients
Quizzes
All exercises, quizzes, and exams are called Quizzes.

Click quiz link
-
Read Summary page
-
Click Start Quiz
-
Monitor timer
-
Answer questions and click Save
-
Click Go to Submit Quiz
-
Confirm and click Submit Quiz
-
View submission summary
-
Click Return to Content
User Progress
Access via Progress → Class Progress
Includes:
Content Progress
Shows viewed/completed content, visit counts, total time, and topic percentages.
Grades Progress
Displays current final grade, possible grades, recent scores, and instructor feedback (comments or rubrics).
