Careers in Engineering
Engineering remains a high-demand profession, both nationally and throughout the State of Texas.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, almost 140,000 new engineering jobs are expected to be created between 2016 and 2026. Approximately 23% of those new engineering jobs will be civil engineers, the largest occupation in the field. Engineers are employed in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, engineering services, government, scientific research and development, construction, and computer systems design.
Due to their valuable skills and high demand, engineers earn a median annual wage of $91,010 – more than twice the median wage for all workers.
