Registration will open Monday, Oct. 12, for the Blinn College District’s winter minimester and spring 2027 courses, giving students the opportunity to get ahead, stay on track toward graduation, or begin their college journey at one of Texas’ leading transfer institutions.

The opening of registration coincides with Texas Free College Application Week, Oct. 12-18, a statewide initiative encouraging students to take the next step toward higher education.

While Free College Application Week offers an excellent opportunity for students to explore their college options, prospective Buccaneers don’t have to wait for a special event to apply. Blinn’s admission application is always free.

Beginning Monday, students can apply to enroll during the current academic year or plan ahead for fall 2027. Blinn’s fall 2027 admission application, endowed scholarship application, and Brenham Campus housing application will all be open.

“Whether students are looking to make progress toward their degree this winter, build their spring schedule, or begin planning for fall 2027, this is an excellent time to take the next step,” said Dr. Becky McBride, Vice Chancellor of Student Services. “Blinn offers students an affordable, supportive path toward their academic and career goals, and our team is ready to help them throughout the enrollment process.”

Prospective students and their families can find a step-by-step guide to becoming a Buccaneer at www.blinn.edu/apply. From there, students can submit their free Blinn admission application, complete the endowed scholarship application, and, for students interested in living on the Brenham Campus, submit their housing application.

Blinn’s endowed scholarship application allows students to be considered for more than 350 scholarships through a single application, making it easier to connect students with financial support for their education.

Students interested in the traditional residential college experience also can apply for housing on the Brenham Campus, Blinn’s only campus offering on-campus residence life. A fee is required to submit the housing application.

For students ready to enroll sooner, Blinn’s winter minimester runs Dec. 14-18 and Dec. 28-Jan. 6, providing an accelerated opportunity to earn college credit between the fall and spring semesters. Winter minimester courses allow students to complete coursework in a condensed format, helping them make progress toward a degree, fulfill prerequisites, or lighten their course load during the spring semester.

Spring 2027 courses also are open for registration, offering students a wide range of opportunities to pursue academic degrees, prepare for university transfer, and complete workforce credentials.

Blinn offers courses across its Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenburg, Sealy, and Waller locations, as well as online. With small classes, personalized instruction, extensive student support services, and tuition and general fees that save students 52% compared to the average Texas public university, Blinn provides an affordable pathway toward a university degree or a rewarding career.

Blinn also boasts the highest university transfer rate among Texas community colleges, giving students the opportunity to complete foundational coursework at an affordable cost before continuing their education at a four-year institution.

Current Blinn students can register for winter minimester and spring 2027 courses through their myBLINN portal. New students can begin the admission process and find a step-by-step enrollment guide at www.blinn.edu/apply.
