Blinn livestock judging team places second at Tri-State Fair contest
Colton Mullins leads Blinn as fourth-highest individual

Blinn College livestock judging placed second at the recent Tri-State Fair in Amarillo, Texas, continuing a string of top finishes so far during the 2026-27 judging season.
Blinn’s white team placed second overall at the Tri-State Fair.
Individually, Colton Mullins was fourth overall, including a first-place finish in swine, sixth in sheep/goats, and 14th in reasons.
Emma Malven was sixth overall, placing ninth in reasons, 14th in beef, and 16th in swine. Braxley Brezina was eighth overall, winning the sheep/goats division and placing 13th in reasons and 18th in beef.
Taylor Eckelberg placed third in swine; Tatum Bales placed ninth in beef and swine; Lane Steen placed fifth in swine and 18th in reasons; Brody Youtz placed 19th in sheep/goats; and Jackie Finney placed 20th in swine.
In the novice division, the Blinn blue team was third.
Augustus Sexton was third overall, winning in beef and placing fifth in reasons and 12th in swine.
Wyatt Luddeke was sixth overall, placing seventh in beef, eighth in reasons, and 18th in swine. Percy Torrez was seventh overall, with second place in beef and 12th in reasons.
Kotton West placed third in sheep/goats, eighth in swine, and 18th in reasons. Ashlyn Peters placed 13th in reasons, Darcy Luedke 15th in beef, Miles Halfmann 16th in beef, and Keeley Warnken 17th in reasons and 19th in beef.
This was the third contest for Blinn Livestock Judging during the 2026-27 season. Blinn won the National Barrow Show and placed second in the Top Notch Swine Judging Contest.
Blinn will next compete Oct. 2 in the Flint Hills Mid-America Classic livestock judging contest in Hutchinson, Kan.
Livestock judging is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state.
Blinn offers agriculture classes on all its campuses, with the W.J. “Bill” Rankin Agricultural Complex on the Brenham Campus serving as the program’s headquarters. Students can earn an Associate of Science in Agriculture or an Associate of Science in Agricultural Business, which includes a focus on agribusiness and business. Both degrees are designed to transfer toward agricultural bachelor’s degrees.
