Blinn Paramedic Program graduates achieve 100% first-time pass rate on certification and licensure exams

Graduates demonstrate career-ready skills for the fast-paced field of emergency medicine

The Blinn College District Paramedic Program is celebrating a 100% first-time pass rate on the paramedic licensure examination administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

All 11 of Blinn’s summer 2026 graduates passed the exam on their first attempt.

“Our graduates have completed rigorous training that prepares them to respond confidently and effectively in high-pressure situations,” Program Director Zack Varner said. “Their 100% first-time pass rate reflects hard earned knowledge, critical-thinking skills, and hands-on preparation they developed throughout the program. Through realistic simulations and immersive experiences at Texas A&M-RELLIS, they are prepared to provide lifesaving care and make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.”

Paramedics play a critical role in emergency medical services (EMS), providing assessment, treatment, and lifesaving care to patients in emergency situations. Blinn’s program includes basic and clinical emergency medical technician, emergency pharmacology, clinical emergency medical services, trauma management, cardiology, medical emergencies, and EMS operations.

Graduates who successfully complete the required certification and licensure process are eligible to pursue careers with ambulance services, local governments, outpatient care centers, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations.
