The Blinn College District Board of Trustees authorized the College on Tuesday to take the next steps toward construction of a new Sports Complex on the Blinn-Brenham Campus.
At its Sept. 15 meeting, the Board authorized the administration to negotiate and execute a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) with Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, LLC, to construct the complex. The Board also authorized agreements related to developing the project site and allowed the College to seek proposals for furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
The project remains within its overall budget of $43.465 million.
Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2026, and substantial completion is anticipated in summer 2028.
The project will include a synthetic turf practice football field, an eight-lane track, a synthetic turf competition soccer field, and a synthetic turf competition softball field.
A new 28,500-square-foot fieldhouse will include athletic offices, locker rooms, and training facilities. The complex also will feature approximately 250 parking spaces, new drive connections, unconditioned storage buildings, and site utility infrastructure improvements.
The Sports Complex is part of Blinn’s continued investment in the Brenham Campus and is designed to enhance the experience of student-athletes and the broader student body while supporting recruitment, retention, and campus life.
