Blinn esports announces fall 2026 tryout schedule

Three-time national champion Buccaneers to host online and in-person opportunities beginning Aug. 17

The three-time national champion Blinn College esports program invites gamers of all skill levels to showcase their skills during upcoming tryouts for the 2026 fall semester.

Spots are available on the Buccaneers’ six teams: Valorant, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Overwatch 2.

Players of all skill levels are encouraged to try out. Prospective players must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours, and scholarship opportunities are available for walk-on players.

Tryouts begin Monday, Aug. 17, and will be conducted online through the Blinn esports Discord server. Supplemental tryouts on Aug. 27-28 will be available online or in person at the Blinn Esports Arena at Mill Creek Hall on the Blinn-Brenham Campus, 1192 Old Mill Creek Road in Brenham, or the Blinn RELLIS Administration Building arena, 1366 Bryan Road in Bryan.

Tryout dates are:

• Monday, Aug. 17 – Overwatch
• Tuesday, Aug. 18 – Rocket League
• Wednesday, Aug. 19 – Valorant and Call of Duty
• Thursday, Aug. 20 – League of Legends and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
• Friday, Aug. 21 – Supplemental tryouts (all games)
• Thursday, Aug. 27 – Supplemental tryouts (all games)
• Friday, Aug. 28 – Supplemental tryouts (all games)
