Blinn-Bryan Theatre Troupe invites audiences to experience the power of community during its 2026-27 season

Tickets are now on sale for Tony Award-nominated “Come From Away” and Pulitzer Prize-winning “Our Town”

Tickets are now on sale for the Blinn-Bryan Theatre Troupe’s 2026-27 season, featuring two moving productions that celebrate connection, compassion, and the relationships that bring communities together.

Presented under the theme “Committing to Community,” the season features the uplifting musical “Come From Away” Nov. 12-22 and Thornton Wilder’s timeless play “Our Town” April 8-18. All performances will take place at the Blinn College-Bryan Campus Student Center, Room F-120.

Tickets for both productions are available now at www.blinn.edu/boxoffice. Audience members are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to secure seats for their preferred performance.

Though separated by nearly a century of storytelling, both productions explore the relationships that define communities and the importance of caring for one another.

“Community is at the heart of everything we do in theatre,” Theatre Arts Professor Greg Wise said. “This season celebrates the relationships we build with one another, whether through extraordinary acts of kindness or the simple moments that make up everyday life. Both productions remind us that our greatest strength comes from the people around us, and I hope audience members absorb that sense of community and feel connected when they leave the theatre after each performance.”

Both productions are suitable for ages 8 and older. Performance dates are subject to change.

The opening-night productions of “Come From Away” and “Our Town” will be followed by an interactive “Talk-Back” event, during which the cast, crew, and local partners will answer questions and engage with the audience.

“Come From Away”

The season opens with the Tony Award-nominated musical “Come From Away,” which runs at the Bryan Campus Student Center Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 12-14, at 7 p.m., Friday through Saturday, Nov. 20-21 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.

Set in the days following the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, “Come From Away” tells the true story of the residents of Gander, Newfoundland, who welcomed approximately 7,000 stranded airline passengers after 38 planes were forced to land when U.S. airspace was closed.

Featuring music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the production is filled with humor, heart, and unforgettable music that celebrates compassion, generosity, and the unexpected friendships that emerge during a time of uncertainty.

“‘Come From Away’ is a remarkable true story of people opening their hearts to complete strangers, reminding us that community isn’t defined by where we live—it’s defined by how we care for one another,” said Dr. Evleen Nasir, who will direct the show. “I hope audiences leave the theatre inspired to extend that same spirit of empathy in their own lives.”

“Our Town”

In April, the BBTT will stage Thorton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning classic “Our Town.” Performances run at the Bryan Campus Student Center Thursday through Saturday, April 8-10, at 7 p.m., Friday through Saturday, April 16-17, at 7 p.m., and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18. 

A three-act play written in 1938 and set in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, N.H., the play follows the lives of two neighboring families as they experience the joys and challenges of everyday life. A timeless story, the play encourages audiences to pause, appreciate life’s ordinary moments, and recognize the deep connections that bind communities together.

“This play reminds us that life’s most meaningful moments are often the ones we overlook,” Wise said. “This story invites audience members to slow down, appreciate the people around them, and recognize the beauty in ordinary life. My hope is that everyone who sees this production leaves the theatre with a renewed appreciation for their family, friends, and community.”

Auditions

The BBTT invites students and community members to audition for cast and crew roles for both “Come From Away” and “Our Town.”

Auditions for “Come From Away” will take place at the Bryan Student Center (Room F-120) Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. Callbacks will take place Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. Those auditioning for the cast should prepare 16-bars of a song from a musical and provide a copy of marked sheet music for the accompanist. Crew members will be interviewed.

Auditions for “Our Town” will take place in January 2027.
