The Blinn College Alumni and Friends and Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen associations will host their annual Clay Shootout on April 17, and a few spots remain available for participants.
This year’s Shootout will again be held at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range in Burleson County. Participants will shoot on a three-flight schedule at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. Spots remain available for the 2:30 p.m. flight, and interested participants are encouraged to register soon to secure their preferred flight time.
Funds raised from the Clay Shootout support Blinn College students through academic scholarships and enhancements to athletic programs.
“The Clay Shootout grows every year, and it’s a powerful thing to see the community step up for our students,” said Luke Eckert, Chair of the Alumni and Friends. “Whether it’s helping a student in a hardship, funding championship rings, or honoring our history through the Hall of Honor, 100% of the money from our raffles and auctions goes right back into supporting our own.”
Participants will target 100 sporting clays and receive food, drinks, prizes, and trophies. Awards will be presented to the highest individual scores in male, female, and youth divisions.
Registration is $600 for a team of four, $150 for a single shooter (who will be paired with a team), and $20 for spectators. Spectator registration includes unlimited food and drinks.
The underwriter for this year’s Shootout is Paragon Financial Services.
