Program prepares graduates for high-demand careers in the healthcare profession
March 5, 2026
The Blinn College District Vocational Nursing Program is now accepting applications for fall 2026 admission, offering students a path to one of today’s most high-demand healthcare professions.
“Our program prepares students to be compassionate, skilled professionals who can confidently step into today’s healthcare workforce,” said Dr. Michelle Marburger, Director of the Vocational Nursing Program. “We combine hands-on clinical experience with personalized instruction to ensure our students pass the licensure exam and are ready to make an immediate impact in their communities.”
Blinn’s Vocational Nursing Program is a 10-to-11-month course of study that provides students with the training needed to become highly skilled, licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) capable of working in a variety of medical settings.
Offered on the Brenham Campus, the program consists of classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences in acute care settings and other healthcare facilities in the surrounding area, providing students with practical, real-world preparation for the profession.
Applicants must complete a mandatory, 90-minute Zoom information session to apply. The next session will be held on Wednesday, March 18. To register, visit www.blinn.edu/vocational-nursing/information.html.
The program has two start dates per year, in the fall and spring semesters. Upon completing the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) and the Nursing Jurisprudence Examination. Students who pass both exams become licensed vocational nurses.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 2024 annual median pay for a vocational nurse was $62,340. In the past three years, almost 98% of the program’s graduates have found jobs in the profession.
The deadline to apply for fall admission is Friday, April 17. For more information, visit www.blinn.edu/vocational-nursing.
