The Blinn College District recently hosted the Texas Junior College Student Government Association (TJCSGA) Region 4 meeting on the Bryan Campus, welcoming student government representatives from across the region for a two-day leadership event Feb. 27–28.

Hosted by the Bryan Campus Student Government Association (SGA), the meeting brought together student leaders and advisors from several community colleges to discuss regional initiatives, participate in leadership development activities, and conduct official TJCSGA Region 4 business.

Blinn students and staff played a prominent role in regional leadership during the 2024–2025 academic year. Representing Blinn College on the Region 4 Board were Cynthia Cherry of the Brenham Campus, who served as treasurer; Samuel Grisham of the Brenham Campus, who served as president; Alex Gardner, Blinn’s Coordinator of Student Leadership and Activities, who served as region advisor; and Benjamin Nicholas of the Bryan Campus, who served as secretary.

During the meeting, elections were held for the upcoming 2025–2026 Region 4 Board. Blinn students and staff will continue their strong presence in regional leadership, with Hayden Marrs of the Brenham Campus elected vice president, Madison Cross of the Bryan Campus elected president, and Blinn Coordinator of Student Leadership and Activities Kierston Williams elected region advisor-elect.

The Blinn College-Schulenburt Campus also was represented at the meeting.

“It is always rewarding to help Blinn College students grow their leadership skills and to see them recognized by their peers,” said Williams. “Blinn’s Student Government Association provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership abilities while making a meaningful impact on their campuses and communities.”

The next Region 4 Board meeting will take place during the Texas Junior College Student Government Association state convention scheduled for April 17–19 in Dallas. The convention, themed “Game Changers,” will include leadership workshops, TJCSGA committee meetings, and recognition of student government accomplishments from colleges across the state.
