The Blinn College District’s spring Class of 2025 walked the stage during the College’s 151 st commencement ceremony Wednesday, May 7, at the Brenham High School auditorium.

The exercise recognized students who earned associate degrees, certificates, and occupational skills awards. Including students who reverse transfer, approximately 1,070 Blinn students graduated this spring.

The ceremony featured two student speakers, Michael Griffin and Ignacio Jimenez.

Griffin’s journey with Blinn College began more than five decades ago when he enrolled in 1971. He served as an athletic trainer for the football and men’s basketball teams before transferring to Texas A&M, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Following his graduation, he spent three years teaching in Killeen, followed by 37 years with Dow Chemical Company, where he managed a fleet of over 600 railcars. Last summer, after years supporting Blinn College and even earning a place in the Blinn Alumni and Friends Association’s Hall of Honor, Griffin chose to earn his Blinn degree through reverse transfer, completing the art course he needed to meet the requirements for his associate degree.

Jimenez is a licensed vocational nurse and an Associate Degree Nursing student graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. A U.S. Army and Texas Army National Guard veteran, he has earned multiple certifications and degrees in health information technology, health sciences-nursing, and medical assisting.

As part of the ASCEND Program offered in partnership with Texas A&M University, Jimenez is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and this summer, he will begin work as a graduate nurse resident at C.H.I. St. Joseph Health in Bryan.

Registration is now open for Blinn’s May minimester and the summer I, summer II, and fall terms.

New students can apply to Blinn via the ApplyTexas.org application. Once admitted, they can register for classes at https://my.blinn.edu. Blinn recommends that all students speak to an academic advisor prior to registering for classes.
