Jessica RochaAs the state’s academic transfer leader, the Blinn College District has a longstanding history of successfully streamlining the path to transfer opportunities. Now the addition of a new position will help provide additional support for students seeking seamless bachelor’s degree pathways.

Jessica J. Rocha recently joined Blinn at Texas A&M-RELLIS to serve as student transfer recruiter for Prospective Student Relations. In this role, she collaborates with the staff and faculty representing the RELLIS Academic Alliance to connect Blinn students with bachelor’s degree options and supports students in co-enrollment programs such as Texas A&M-Blinn TEAM, Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Brenham, Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn, and the Aggie Student-Centered Express Nursing Degree (ASCEND) programs.

With an eye on Blinn’s numerous transfer partnership pathways, Rocha will help Blinn students connect with opportunities at Sam Houston State University, Texas Women’s University, the University of Houston-Victoria’s CAPS Partnership, Southern New Hampshire University, and elsewhere.

“I’m excited to assist Blinn students with each step in the transfer process to ensure their academic success,” Rocha said. “Whether it’s an application deadline or help registering for classes, I want to make sure students aware of all of their options and find a program that puts them on the path to achieving their goals. I find it so rewarding to know I’m helping students find their passion and learn about every opportunity that is available to them.”

Rocha earned her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2019, then served as a high school agriculture teacher and Future Farmers of America advisor in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She relocated to the Bryan/College Station area in 2022 and is pursuing her Master of Science in Poultry Science from Texas A&M University.

With the No. 1 academic transfer rate among Texas community colleges, Blinn remains dedicated to providing students with the preparation, guidance, and resources to transfer to a four-year institution. Rocha’s new position will help bolster this goal by guiding students to eligible programs and co-enrollment opportunities.
