Three from Blinn-Brenham Student Government Association elected to Region IV offices

Thornton, Powell, and Glaze elected at annual state convention

Three members of the Blinn College-Brenham Campus Student Government Association (SGA) have been elected to one-year terms on the Texas Junior College SGA Region IV Executive Board.

Matthew Glaze, Colbey Thornton, and Honor Powell were elected at the 2022 Texas Junior College SGA State Convention held recently in Dallas.

Thornton, the current Blinn-Brenham SGA president, was elected Region IV Executive Board vice president. Thornton is a freshman from Brenham.

Powell, a freshman from Weston, Fla., also was elected Region IV Executive Board vice president. Powell is the current Blinn-Brenham SGA vice president.

Glaze was elected Region IV Executive Board advisor. He is the full-time Coordinator of Student Leadership and Activities and co-advisor of the Blinn-Brenham SGA.

The theme of this year’s convention was “Leaders with a Cause.”

The Blinn-Brenham SGA looks to develop student leadership, serve as a liaison between students and college administration, represent the voice of the Blinn student body, and make improvements in all areas of campus life.
