- Program Change: AAS Veterinary Technology Traditional
Elmer Godney – This proposal is to change the sequence of courses due to poor performance on license examinations from some students. The changes will involve changes in the sequencing of the courses in the program. Pharmacology, anethesia and surgical assistant students will need more in class time to improve their performance by give students more time on these subjects. The proposal is to move these topics from a 10 week summer course to a 16 week Fall course. Radiology and exotic clinical management courses will be moved to the 10 week summer course format. This is a 2-year program.
A motion to approve was made by Branden Franke and seconded by Michelle Marburger.

- Program Change: AAS Veterinary Technology Hybrid
Canine and Feline clinical management courses were offered as an 8 week summer course. These will be moved to a Spring 16 week course. Clin Path 1 and Path 2 were taught as consecutive 5 week courses in the summer. These courses will be moved to the Spring semester as 8 week courses. The pharmacological calculations course will be moved from the Spring to the previous Fall semester. This will give students better exposure to this content to improve the student performance on the national board exams. The advisory board has approved these changes. This is a 3-year program.
Shelly Peacock noted that these are cohort courses. These courses are treated differently in Banner.
Marcelo Bussiki noted that a change in the course sequence is not considered a change in the program, so we should not have to approve course sequencing.
The sequencing changes might be noted as an FYI instead of requiring approval. This allows for proper scheduling of prerequisites in Banner and Scribe so that the programs are correctly listed in Degreeworks. The FYI note in curriculog serves as documentation.
Brandon Franke proposed a motion to table the approval of this change until it can be determined whether it requires curriculum committee approval for a sequence change. The motion was seconded by Michelle Marburger.
