August 13, 2025
The Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus will host two gardening-related continuing education courses this fall, giving participants practical skills they can apply at home.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6-8 p.m., “Seed Saving and Plant Propagation” will teach home gardeners how to grow more of their favorite plants from seeds, cuttings, and divisions. Registration is $25.
“Natural Health Remedies” consists of six two-hour classes, meeting from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays from Sept. 25-Oct. 30. In this six-session course, students will explore how plants can be used to help prevent and address common health concerns, including arthritis, cancer, diabetes, weight loss, and heart disease. The fee is $89.
Both courses will be led by David Will, who has taught continuing education and Master Gardener classes for more than 35 years. Will holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in agriculture from Sam Houston State University.
Will brings real-world expertise into the classroom, having served as grounds manager for The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park. He is not a doctor, and information in the Natural Health Remedies class is for educational purposes only and not intended to replace information from a physician.
