More than 750 students earned degrees, certificates, and occupational skills awards this fall

The Blinn College District’s Fall Class of 2023 walked the stage during the College’s 148th commencement ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Brazos County Expo Center.
The exercise recognized students who earned associate degrees, certificates, and occupational skills awards. Including students who reverse transfer, approximately 750 Blinn students graduated this fall.
The ceremony featured two student speakers, communication studies student Hailey Marbibi and associate degree nursing student Crise Leal.
“Blinn helped me see that what seemed impossible was absolutely possible,” said Leal, who plans to begin her nursing career in California. “Every time I spoke to any faculty member from any department, they made me feel that I wasn’t alone and that I didn’t have to figure everything out on my own. They were always there to help me and support me no matter what the situation was.”
“You’re going to learn things that you didn’t know you would learn and you’re going to learn things that you’re not ready for, frankly, but that’s where growth comes from,” said Marbibi, who will pursue to Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M-Texarkana at RELLIS after graduation. “At Blinn, there are so many people who are willing to support you and are willing to support you through the tough times, and to give you advice and give you the resources that you need to succeed.”
Livestream footage of the ceremony is available at the Blinn College YouTube page.
