Blinn College Overwatch team continues unbeaten streak
Esports team now 6-0 for the season with Thursday’s win

The Blinn College Overwatch esports team remains undefeated during its debut season.
Blinn is now unbeaten through six matches following its 3-0 win over Kaiser University-Sarasota on Thursday.
“They didn’t drop a point across the three maps,” Coach Aaron Kapiko said. In Overwatch, a team defends or attacks points on a map, or escorts a payload across a map while the other team tries to stop it.
Team members are Caleb Sheffield (Austin), Ayden Rodriguez (College Station), Andrew Magourik (Bryan), Carter Haber (Aledo, Texas), Juan Cantu (Cedar Hill, Texas), and Jacob Barnes (Bryan).
Blinn will face league co-leader Southeastern University on Monday in a matchup of unbeaten teams.
“We’ve got a huge match coming up, but I think we’ll be ready,” Kapiko said.
Blinn’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team (1-0 on the season) plays the University of Texas at Dallas tonight.
Blinn launched its esports program this Fall and competes in the National Association of College Esports against two-year colleges and four-year universities. It is one of only a few community colleges in the region offering esports scholarships.
