Blinn Assistant Police Chief Jennifer Taylor graduates from FBI National Academy
Taylor is a 23-year law enforcement veteran

Jennifer Taylor, Assistant Chief of Police and Emergency Management Coordinator for the Blinn College District, was among 258 law enforcement officers to graduate from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va., in December.
The 278th session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 49 states and the District of Columbia. The class included members of law enforcement agencies from 37 countries, four military organizations, and six federal civilian organizations.
Over the course of the 11-week academy, participants live in dormitories at the FBI’s Training Academy, where they attend classes and seminars. The academy also requires participants to undergo rigorous physical training, culminating in a six-mile obstacle course called the Yellow Brick Road that was designed by the U.S. Marine Corps to test the candidates’ endurance and teamwork.
“I am very appreciative that our chancellor, Dr. Mary Hensley, and our department allowed me to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Taylor said. “I look forward to utilizing the knowledge and skills that I obtained at the academy to support our faculty, staff, and students.”
A 23-year veteran, Taylor has been with Blinn since 2017. She also serves as the assistant team lead for The San Jacinto All Hazards Incident Management Team for disaster response.
“Blinn is proud to have a strong relationship with the FBI and its federal law enforcement partners, and Assistant Chief Taylor’s graduation from the academy demonstrates that strong partnership,” said Blinn Police Chief John Chancellor.
FBI Director Christopher Asher Wray delivered remarks at the graduation ceremony. Class spokesperson Paul Acosta of the Miami Beach, Fla., Police Department represented the graduating officers.
FBI Academy instructors, special agents, and other staff with advanced degrees provide the training; many instructors are recognized internationally in their fields. A total of 52,540 graduates have completed the FBI National Academy since it began in 1935.
