Blinn crowns 2019 Homecoming king and queen
Keegan Jones and Maddie Eddings named royalty during halftime of Blinn’s Homecoming game

Maddie Eddings and Keegan Jones were crowned Blinn College’s 2019 Homecoming queen and king Saturday.
Eddings was nominated by the Blinn College dance team, while Jones was nominated by the Blinn College cheerleading team.
A selection committee chose Eddings and Jones using a point system in which nominees were scored based on an essay, their performance in the Homecoming talent show, and letters of recommendation from Blinn faculty.
Eddings, a member of the dance team, is majoring in liberal arts. Following Blinn College, she plans to attend Texas State University.
“I feel really honored to be nominated by the dance team and to have been named Homecoming queen,” Eddings said. “I feel really blessed and am thankful to everyone who helped me achieve this.”
Jones, a member of the cheerleading team, is majoring in theatre. He plans to teach English in China and volunteer around the world.
“It feels really good to have been nominated by the cheerleading team and to be named this year’s Homecoming king,” Jones said.
In 2019, Blinn College dance team captured two national titles for its seventh straight title and the Blinn College cheer team won its sixth consecutive national title at the 2019 National Cheer Association & National Dance Association Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships.
In 2019, Blinn dance made history by claiming national titles in both Dance Team Performance Open and Pom Division II.
In 2018, Blinn cheer made history as the first team ever to win five consecutive national championships in Small Coed Division II and now holds the record with six straight.
