Skills for Small Business

If your company has less than 100 employees, the Texas Workforce Commission can pay for your employees to go through training.

The Skills for Small Business grant program allows companies with less than 100 employees to take courses at Blinn, paying up to $1,800 per year for new employees (less than 365 days on the job) and $900 for existing employers (over one year on the job).

Here are the qualifications to apply for the training funds:

  • Full-time employees only
  • Courses offered by Blinn on “open-enrollment” schedule
  • Training must relate to the employee’s job at your company
  • Employee Social Security numbers are required
  • Employers must pay the prevailing wages in the local labor market for the employee seeking training

The Skills for Small Business program pays Blinn directly for the training. Once the form is filled out, we take care of the rest.
