(CNA) The Nurse Aide program offered through the Office of Workforce Education, Allied Health, is a 104 contact hour course designed to prepare students for work as Nurse Aides in long-term care, home health, hospitals and doctor’s offices. Becoming a Certified Nurse Aide is a first step toward a career as an Allied Health professional. Academic course work and lab activities are completed at the Blinn College Campuses. Clinical training is conducted at a local, approved long-term care facility under the direct supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse. The approved curriculum for this course is under the direction and guidelines set up by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Certification Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Texas State Certified Nurse Aide Registry exam. The training program includes all of the requirements established by the Department of Aging and Disability Services:
Expenses In addition to the cost of the course, you can expect to incur some other expenses. This amount will vary from person to person as some students may already have the needed items and/ or immunizations.
