Perkins Grant Assistance

When to apply for Perkins Assistance

Please note: Due to current funding shortfalls, there will not be Perkins financial assistance (in the form of textbooks, transportation, or childcare) for the Spring 2014 semester. Our hope is to restore student financial assistance in the form of textbook and transportation supplements for the Summer 2014 semester. A notice will be posted on this webpage by May 1, 2014 if summer funding will occur, which will include when the online application will open.

In the interim period, some students may qualify for assistance in the aforementioned areas (and tuition, as well) through the Texas Workforce Commission – Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley. This agency is located at 3391 East 29th Street, Bryan, TX and their phone number is (979) 595-2810. Note that only individuals majoring in programs that are considered Targeted Occupations will be considered, and there are additional qualifying criteria. However, we encourage you to call their office and speak with a counselor to see if you and your educational pathway may be eligible for assistance.

Thank you!

The Carl D. Perkins Grant Office
