Application Procedures

To be considered as an applicant to the Dental Hygiene Program, the following steps must be completed:

• Request and complete a Dental Hygiene Application and submit all information to the Dental Hygiene Office prior to February 1 of each year.

• All transcripts must be official and submitted with your Dental Hygiene Application.

• Selection into the Dental Hygiene Program does not guarantee admission to Blinn College. If selected, students must meet Blinn College and state requirements for pre-admission and placement testing. The students must be considered "College Ready", by either exemption, passing all sections of THEA, or completing remediation courses.

• Take the Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET).Click here for the current testing schedule at Blinn College.

• Students are responsible for meeting all deadlines date and submitting completed applications.

Students are strongly encouraged to make an appointment for Dental Hygiene Advising with the Director of the Dental Hygiene Program by contacting 979-209-7272 and to make an appointment with the Community Partnership Facilitator, Ashley Kelley at 979-209-7554 for general academic guidance and student support.

Dental Hygiene applications for the Fall of 2010 should be requested from the Dental Hygiene office starting September 15, 2009. Please contact the Dental Hygiene Program Secretary, Linda Gutierrez, at 979-209-7272. Applications should be received or postmarked by February 1, 2010.
