Criminal Justice Program

Criminal Justice Fall 2018 Classes in Bryan are held at the RELLIS campus (designated as “RL” on the registration webpage). If applying to Blinn and you plan to attend CJ classes in person in Bryan-College Station, make sure to choose the RELLIS campus (NOT Bryan). If you have already applied but can’t register for a CRIJ course (for instance, you get a Campus Restriction) please e-mail the following address: and state that you intend to be a Criminal Justice major and need your campus designation changed to RELLIS. Dates for Upcoming Basic Peace Officer Academies

Length of Academy – in weeks

August 7th 2017 to December 8, 2017 18
February 5th, 2018 to June 8th, 2018 18

The criminal justice/ law enforcement degree and certificate courses listed as CRIJ are academic transfer courses which will transfer to universities that offer a criminal justice bachelor's degree. Check with the university of your choice and refer to their equivalency guide.  Technical Dual Credit criminal justice courses are available at area high schools and apply to the associate of applied science degrees in criminal justice and law enforcement.   Blinn College also partners with TEEX Central Texas Police Academy. The program has established internships with Brazos Valley law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, please see the criminal justice coordinator two months prior to the spring or summer semesters regarding internship availability.  

Currently, the Contemporary Issues class topic is “victimology” with plans to change topics to “serial killers and mass murders”.    Retired Chief Edgar Feldman brings over 40 years of  law enforcement experience to this class designed to be small for lots of student interaction.
