Forensic Technician Certificate

EARN COLLEGE CREDIT
AND
ENHANCE YOUR EXISTING KNOWLEDGE AT THE SAME TIME

 

By attending TEEX’s Central Texas Forensic Science Academy and enrolling in Blinn College you can receive 4 college credit hours in the area of Forensic Science.  For example, upon completion of the Forensic Technician Certificate at TEEX, if you are enrolled as a Blinn College student, you will receive college credit for:

CJLE 1245- Crime Scene Investigation
CJSA 1292- Latent Print Processing

Both of above courses are Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCLEOSE) approved training courses and will count toward TCLEOSE certification. (http://www.tcleose.state.tx.us/)

Additionally, CJLE 1245 and CJSA 1292 apply toward Blinn’s Marketable Skills Achievement Award as a Forensic Science Technician. Click here for the MSAA FLOW CHART.

Furthermore, Blinn College students are eligible for a variety of financial aid options. You can view these options by visiting Blinn College’s Financial Aid department webpage for more information. http://www.blinn.edu/finaid/

Perkins Grant Assistance is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to students enrolled in Technical Education programs who fall into a Special Populations category. Assistance is available to help defray the cost of textbooks, child care, and transportation. To find out more about financial assistance click here. Admission to Blinn College is easy. Just follow the steps below:

1. Fill out a Blinn College Application, www.blinn.edu/admissions/apply.htm

2. Submit your official high school transcript to Blinn College.

  • If you have at least twelve hours of college credit, you only need to submit official transcript(s) from all previously attended college(s).

 3. Take the THEA (Texas Higher Education Assessment) test or an approved alternative test (ASSET, ACCUPLACER, or COMPASS).

 4. Apply for financial aid, at http://www.blinn.edu/finaid/.
