Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing Program receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree in nursing and are eligible to apply to the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE) to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX-RN) and become a Registered Nurse (RN). Utilizing hospitals and a variety of other health care agencies in the Bryan/College Station area, Blinn College provides a quality ADN nursing education. Enrollment is limited.

A special option is available for Licensed Vocational Nurses who meet specific admission criteria to complete the ADN Program requirements in one year. The LVN must be currently licensed in Texas and have a minimum of one year nursing experience.

The Blinn College ADN Program is accredited by the BNE, 333 Guadalupe-4th floor, Austin, TX 78767-0430, 512-305-7400, (fax) 512-835-8684 or www.bne.state.tx.us, the THECB, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and the National League for Nursing (NLNAC) Accreditation Commission, 61 Broadway-33rd floor, New York, NY 10006; 1-800-669-1656, (fax) 212-812-0390 or www.nlnac.org

Current Immunizations, including Hepatitis B, are required prior to admission

For example, students who anticipate applying to the ADN Program for the fall MUST have their first hepatitis B injection no later than March 1st, the second injection no later than April 1st, and the third injection prior to first day of class. Students who have not completed the hepatitis B series by the first class day will no longer be admitted into the program. Please contact the Program Office if you have any questions regarding this required immunization series.

Criminal background checks and drug screens are required for all Allied Health students upon admission
