Blinn College Womens Basketball Club

Constitution

Article I

The name of the organization shall be the Women's Basketball Club of Blinn College.

Article II Purpose

The purpose of the Women's Baketball Club is to promote the sport of women's basketball on the Blinn campus and in the Brenham community, to seek ways to serve the yourth and needy when possible and to provide social and personal enhancement opportunities for the members.

Article III - Qualifications of Members

All members of the Women's Basketball program in good standing both academically and athletically are eligible for membership.

Article IV Officers and Elections

Section l: The Women's Basketball Club shall have officers are follows:

1. President

2. Vice President

3. Secretary/Treasurer

4. Student Government Representative

5. Associate Student Government Representative/Publicist

Section II; Duties of Officers

1. President-Preside over meetings, organize planning activities, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

2. Vice President-Assist the President in any way and assumes the President's duties in her absence.

3. Secretary/Treasurer-Keeps records of all meetings, takes care of correspondence, responsible for all funds and the accurate record keeping of all income and expenditures.

4. Student Government Representative-Attends all Student Government meetings and represents the club on any Student Government committees.

5. Associate Student Government Representative/Publicist-Attends Student Government meetings in the absence of the Student Government Representative and handles all publicity for the club.

Section III Elections

Election of officers will be held once a year during the first meeting of the school year. A majority vote will be necessary for an officer to be elected. A runoff will be held if no majority is reached.

Article V

Meetings will be held once a month. Special meetings may be held when necessary. The officers will meet with the sponsor before each monthly meeting.

Article VI

Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by any member. Amendments shall become effective if approved by a two-thirds vote of the membership.
