College Volleyball Club
Constitution Article l. Name This organization shall be known as the Blinn College Volleyball Club. Article II. Objectives The objectives, or statements of purpose, of the organization shall be: 1) to provide a means for the Blinn College Volleyball team to become more involved with student activities. 2) to provide an opportunity for any interested students to become involved with the Blinn College Vollwyball team and acquire a better understanding of the game of volleyball. 3) to provide support for the Blinn College Volleyball team. Article III. Membership The membership shall consist of any currently enrolled Blinn College student who is interested in participating in this organization. Article IV. Officers Section 1. The officers of this organization shall consist of the President, Vice President, and two representatives. All officers shall be elected by the members of the organization. Section 2. The duties of the officers are the following: President: Shall be executive officer and preside over all meetings, appoint committees, vote in case of a tie, serve as ex-officio member of all committees, call meetings, enforce and see that all memebers uphold the purposes of the organization. Vice President: Shall be the secondardy executive officer and execute the duties of the President in his absence and shall oversee all functions of the organization. Secretary: Shall be in charge of recording the minutes of all meetings and preparing them for approval at the next scheduled meeting, handling all correspondence, and to be responsible for the budget. Representative: Shall attend student governmental meetins and report to the club members and pertinent transactions at those meetings. Section 3. The length of term for each officer shall be one school year. They shall be elected during the last meeting of the year and will take office at that time. Their term will run until the next election. Articel V. Election Procedures Section 1: Elections shall be run as follows: 1) nominations shall be made from the floor 2) all elections shall be decided by a majority vote 3) special elections will be held if replacements for existing officers is needed and will be conducted by the highest ranking officer. Section 2: Requirements for officers: 1) to be eligible to hold office one must be a full time student in good standing with the college, be an active member, and be academically eligible to participate (as described by the Student Handbook). Article VI. Executive Board Section 1: The Executive Board shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Representatives, and Faculty Advisor. Section 2: The purpose of the Board shall be to oversee the organization in an administrative fashion. Article VII. Meetings Meetings will be held once a month as voted on by members at the first meeting of the year. The agenda for meetings shall be as follows: 1) roll call 2) reading of the minutes of the previous meeting and approval 3) agend 4) repots from committees 5) old business 6) new business 7) adjourn Article VIIII. Committees All committees shall be appointed by the President. Article IX. Parliamentary Authority The rules contained in the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised shall govern this organization in all cases in which this reference is not consistent with the by-laws of any other rules of order adopted by this organization. Article X. Amending the Constitution The constitution may be amended at any regular or called meeting of the organization by a two-thirds vote of all members, provided that the amendments has been submitted in writing to the Executive Board and all recognized members thirty (30) days prior to the meeting.
