M. Elia “Smily” FloresRadiologic Technology Program Director Flores holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University,
Corpus Christi State and Texas Southmost College. She joined the Blinn
College faculty in 1990 and in 1992 was appointed program director. She
has been a recipient of Who’s Who and Minnie Piper Awards for Teaching
Excellence. She is an active member of the state and national professional
organizations for Radiologic Technologists and Educators. Her most recent
adventure in her profession was in 2002 in Peru where she led a team of
scientists studying ancient civilizations. Her experience and wealth of
information was brought back into her classroom to be shared with students
