H. F. Poehlmann

English Instructor

Born in Memphis, Poehlmann grew up on a small farm in Hallettsville with her seven brothers and sisters. She attended Blinn College and Sam Houston State University where she participated in band, twirling and student organizations. After earning undergraduate and graduate degrees, she taught in large and small school districts before joining Blinn in 1986. Poehlmann has published two books of poetry: Poetry for Play and Treasurer Chess. Her collections include a variety of poems that explore the antics of both children and adults. Teaching and raising four sons, has given Poehlmann a wealth of experiences to enrich her poems.
