Dietary Manager’s Program Faculty

 

Katy Adams, MDA RD CSG LD
Katy has been a consulting dietitian for ten years.  She has been teaching the Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professional's approved dietary manager’s class at Blinn College since 2008.  Previous to that, she taught the class through the Texas Health Care Association. Katy served on the website development committee for the national consultant dietitian's group, the nominating committee for the Texas consultants' group and has served as a reviewer for the Academy in Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Manual, long term care section.  Katy is Board Certified in Gerontology, has a BBA in Management  from Baylor University and a Master in Dietetic Administration through Utah State University with an emphasis in person centered care.

 

Cynthia Piland, MS RD CSG LD
Cynthia has consulted in long term care  for over 30  years.  She has spoken at state and national allied healthcare conferences and serves as the program director for the dietary managers program for Blinn College.  As a business owner for 30 years, she developed resources for  topics such as food safety, emergency planning and inservice training.  Through the American Dietetic Association, she serves on the national board for the consultants' practice group and is a past member of the board of certification for Gerontology. Cynthia has a Master’s in Hospital Administration and is Board Certified in Gerontology.
