Mission Statement:
The Office of Recruitment is dedicated to maximizing student
awareness and access to Blinn College and its four campuses.
Our office strives to provide information about the College,
its policies, procedures for admission, and enrollment process,
as well as campus specific information to prospective students
in a timely manner. We work collaboratively and professionally
with our college community to effectively reach new students
through a variety of strategies such as personal contact,
print, mail, email and telephone. Our office believes that
all persons regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity should
be provided essential information necessary to make Blinn
College their educational choice.
Recruiters
The Blinn College recruiting team makes
personal visits to high schools
throughout the state of Texas. The recruiters are available
to attend college day/night programs, set up a general information
table in the cafeteria or library during student’s
lunch hours, make classroom presentations or host a school
assembly. During the fall semester, recruiter’s efforts
are closely tied to the TACRAO (Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) schedule and its programs.
The spring semester focuses on Blinn’s service area
schools with particular emphasis on classroom presentations.
Tour Guides
The Blinn College Office of Recruitment employs several
student workers who serve as tour guides. Selection of tour
guides is based on academic standing, leadership, speaking
ability, composure, responsibility and availability to perform
required tasks. Student worker/tour guides provide daily
tours of the Blinn College – Brenham campus. Tours
include academic and administrative buildings, library, band
hall, athletic facilities, student center, tutoring facilities
and labs, and residence halls.
Ambassadors
Blinn College Ambassadors serve as tour guides on the Bryan campus. These scholarship recipients are official college spokespersons selected for their communications skills, composure, maturity and academic standing. Ambassadors conduct tours of the Bryan campus on weekdays. Tours include academic and administrative buildings, student center, bookstore, library and learning center.
