Hello and welcome to Blinn College! As a new staff member, you will play a central role in the academic and personal development of our students.
You will quickly discover that we take tremendous pride in our more than 130-year history. Established in 1883, Blinn is the oldest publicly-owned community college in the state of Texas, and in that time we have grown from our first class of just three students to more than 18,000.
Our academic transfer rate is one of the highest in the nation, and we have developed strong relations with many of the state's top universities to ease our students' transition. Our Transfer Enrollment at Texas A&M (TEAM) Program, a unique co-enrollment program that allows hundreds of additional students to qualify for Texas A&M University's freshman class each year, recently received the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Recognition of Excellence.
In addition to campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg and Sealy, we teach online courses, dual credit for high school and prepare students for quick employment through workforce education, technical training and vocational education programs. Our enrollment has grown 31.1 percent since 2006, and we expect to continue growing as we remain committed to educational excellence and to individual and community enhancement.
These are exciting times for Blinn College, and we're equally excited to have you with us! Please visit our Blinn.edu Faculty & Staff page or contact your supervisor with any questions you may have.
On behalf of the Blinn College Board of Trustees and the entire Blinn family, I wish you good fortune as we prepare to embark on a vibrant new academic year!
