In the event of a fire alarm, all buildings must be evacuated.  This includes, classrooms, laboratories, offices, restrooms, etc.  The instructor is responsible for evacuating their classroom in which the CIRT member will direct them out of the building. Evacuees must remain at least 100 feet from the building.   This allows for the first responders to be able to access the buildings.

The CIRT members ensure that the buildings are clear.  Clear means no inhabitants and no signs of fire.  Once the buildings are evacuated, all persons will remain outside of the buildings in their designated areas until authorized to re-enter the building.

Instructors and staff are required to review the evacuation routes in their area.  Evacuations are mandatory under any circumstances.  Persons not responding to evacuation procedures risk not only physical injury to themselves or others, but also disciplinary action.
