Our mission is to help in the continuing effort to provide for a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. To achieve our mission, Blinn College has developed a plan in partnership with police, faculty, staff, students and local emergency agencies to assist in responding to a critical incident that may occur on our campuses. These responses may include evacuations, providing shelter-in-place, crowd and/or traffic control, etc.
The Blinn College Critical Incident Response Team is comprised of approximately 30 faculty and staff volunteers committed to respond during a critical incident. The CIRT is a group of volunteers trained to assist in mitigation, response, and recovery processes of critical incidents. While not trained to be police officers, firefighters, or medical personnel, the team members have immediate communication access to required trained professionals.
