O'Donnell
Theater Seat Patron Program To Endow Future Performances
A theater seat patron program under way
for the new Dr. W.W. O'Donnell Performing Arts Center on the Blinn
College campus will provide an endowment to ensure future performances
and operations of the center, college officials say.
The Have A Seat campaign invites
organizations, individuals and businesses to assist in establishing
this endowment through donations of $500 for each of the 500 seats
in the auditorium.
"The campaign is a matching gift
program to complement a $250,000 grant recently awarded by The Meadows
Foundation," says Blinn President Don Voelter. "We invite the community
to become a part of this program which will bring the performing
arts to our area year round."
Construction of the 25,622-square-foot
center was begun with a gift from Dr. and Mrs. W.W. O'Donnell and
has been supported by the Meadows Foundation grant and a $250,00
grant from Houston Endowment.
The donation for one seat will designate
the donor as a Patron; two seats, Director; three to five seats,
Producer; and six or more seats, Executive Producer.
These tax deductible gifts will provide
the name of the donor or honoree inscribed on a plate on the theater
seat arm and on a plaque in the theater lobby, advance ticket opportunities,
the center's calendar of events and invitations to special events.
Anyone interested in participating
in the Have A Seat program may call the college's development office
at 830-4147.
