Four local companies have stepped forward to support local college students through their sponsorship of the 2022 Blinn College District Clay Shootout.

Stylecraft, Inc. is underwriting the Clay Shootout with a $15,000 sponsorship.

“We are proud to once again sponsor the Clay Shootout,” said Doug French, Stylecraft owner and Chief Executive Officer. “As a graduate of Blinn College, I experienced firsthand the amazing job they do in preparing students academically. We are happy to support a great institution as they prepare the next generation of leaders.”

Blue Bell Creameries, Brenham National Bank, and Bank of Brenham each are supporting the annual fundraiser with $5,000 sponsorships.

Hosted Friday, April 8, at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range at 7676 County Road 247 in Caldwell, the Clay Shootout raises funds for Blinn College District academic scholarships and athletic equipment.

“Our annual Clay Shootout is an event I look forward to every year,” said Nathan Van Noord, President of the Blinn College Alumni and Friends Association. “The funds raised directly benefit Blinn College and its students in the form of academic scholarships, financial support for Blinn athletics, and many other important programs. I’m so thankful for all the support we receive from our sponsors and all the participants.”

Entry for a four-person team is $500 and entry for a single shooter who wishes to be paired with a team is $125.

The shoot will include 100 sporting clays. Food will be provided throughout the day along with drinks, raffles, prizes, and awards. For non-shooters, there will be unlimited food and drink for $20.

Raffle tickets also will be sold prior to the event.

Shooters must provide their own shotgun and ammunition. Registration will be one hour before shoot time with a safety meeting 30 minutes prior to shoot time. Awards will be presented to the top male, female, and youth following the final flight. Shooters under the age of 17 must have completed their hunter’s safety certification.

Event registration and sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, contact Blinn Foundation Executive Director Susan Myers (susan.myers@blinn.edu, 979-830-4344) or Foundation Associate Director Phil Shackelford (phil.shackelford@blinn.edu, 979-209-7210).
